I believe that there is an innate brilliance in every child that can guide them through difficult challenges and darker times.  My work with children facilitates the discovery of that brilliance through the use of experiential therapies such as Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, and the expressive arts.  In this process, children learn to identify, express and discharge difficult feelings; harness their internal resources; and incorporate new adaptive skills into their daily life.  I work with children ages four through twelve.  Many of the children that I work with are referred to my practice because they are struggling with adjustment to life transitions such as divorce.  Others are referred so that they can work through grief, anxieties and fears or to heal from trauma or abuse. 

The most important component to successful therapy is a good therapeutic relationship. It is important that your child feel a sense of connectedness as well as empathy, safety, honesty and positive regard from his or her therapist.  It is also important that parents have a feeling of comfort, trust, and confidence in building a collaborative rapport with their child’s therapist.  This enables us to work together in addressing your child’s needs and any parenting concerns or challenges you may have.  Thus, I provide a free initial consultation so that we can talk about therapeutic goals, needs, expectations and to determine if I am a good fit for you and your child.  

I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology, with honors, from Regis University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado.   My office is located in central Denver in the West City Park area.
