The Harris Law Firm Consultation Process
When you call to schedule a consultation with an attorney at The Harris Law Firm, a member of our New Client Development Team will begin by asking you to provide a general description of your legal matter. The initial intake process allows us to obtain the information necessary to choose the attorney best suited to handle your case. Get started by filling out the form below.
The Harris Law Firm has 18 family law attorneys, and many of them have specialties within our single practice area that focuses on divorce and parenting matters. For example, we have a family law attorney at the firm who handles our grandparent’s rights cases, a lawyer who handles relocation and step parent adoption cases, and another who deals with issues involving Social Services. We have 3 lawyers who are also certified as mediators, and another who is a Collaborative Law attorney. Although the firm’s philosophy is to create the best settlement possible for you, we also have many skilled litigators who can assist you if your case goes to trial.
After we have obtained a general overview of your legal matter, we will schedule an appointment for you, and provide your consulting attorney with the information so that they can become familiar with your case prior to the consultation. In addition to bringing a list of questions for your lawyer, we also ask that you bring copies of any court documents pertaining to your case to the consultation for your attorneys review.
When you arrive for your meeting, you will be greeted by a member of our staff, and seated in a conference room. You will pay the consultation fee at this time and then complete a two page Domestic Intake Document. You will then meet with your attorney to discuss the details of your case and your rights and options according to Colorado Law. Your lawyer will also discuss the amount of the retainer at the end of your discussion.
If you decide to retain your attorney at the conclusion of your consultation, you will complete a fee agreement and pay the retainer. If you decide, however, that you need time to consider your options, you can call the firm later and complete the retention process via phone, or you can schedule an appointment to complete the process with our New Client Development Team.
We respectfully request that you do not bring children to your consultation.
Thank you for considering The Harris Law Firm, Colorado’s largest domestic relations law firm and “Colorado’s Family Law Team.”
