The Harris Law Firm Consultation Process
When you call to schedule a consultation with an attorney at The Harris Law Firm, one of our Client Welcoming Associates will begin by asking you to provide a general description of your legal matter. This information helps us choose the attorney best suited to handle your case. Get started by filling out the form below.
One of the many advantages of working with the largest family law firm in Colorado is the many attorney choices available to you. The Harris Law Firm has 19 family law attorneys, all of them different in terms of personality, specialties within the field of family law, and fees. After evaluating the nature of your case, we will help you determine which attorney best suits your needs.
Although you will be paired with one attorney, when you retain The Harris Law Firm, you get the advantage of our combined resources. Our model is to collaborate and use those combined resources and experience to achieve the best results for you as our client.
After we have obtained a general overview of your legal matter, we will schedule an appointment for you, and provide your consulting attorney with the information so that they can become familiar with your case prior to the paid consultation. At The Harris Law Firm, we believe that “free advice is worth every penny you pay for it.” With our paid consultations, we make sure you get what you pay for, which is essential when it comes to such a crucial time in your life. We find that “free consultation” firms simply cannot provide the wide set of attorney options and services that our firm offers.
In addition to bringing a list of questions to ask your lawyer during the consultation, we ask that you bring copies of any court documents pertaining to your case to the consultation for your attorney to review.
At The Harris Law Firm, our motto is “minimize conflict and protect the children,” which is why we respectfully request that you do not bring children to your consultation. If there is any chance that the children can understand the sensitive issues being discussed, we believe that one of the best ways to protect them is by excluding them from this meeting.
When you arrive for your meeting, you will be greeted by a member of our staff, and seated in a conference room. You will then complete a two-page questionnaire before meeting with your attorney to discuss the details of your case and your rights and options according to Colorado Law. During this session, your lawyer will also discuss the amount of the retainer required.
If you decide to retain your attorney at the conclusion of your consultation, you will complete an engagement letter. If you decide, however, that you need time to consider your options, you can contact the firm later and complete the retention process via phone, or you can schedule an appointment to complete the process.
Thank you for considering The Harris Law Firm, Colorado’s largest domestic relations law firm and “Colorado’s Family Law Team.”
