HFL Partner Stephen Vertucci Raises Funds for Needy Families

Over the Memorial Day Weekend, Stephen Vertucci of The Harris Law Firm volunteered with the Rotary Breakfast Club of Fort Collins to solicit donations of baby food and diapers from customers outside various Fort Collins grocery stores.  The results were fantastic!  Over 1,100 pounds of food and supplies were raised in 6 hours!  Throughout the weekend, over 5,000 pounds were raised!  These donations are given to the Larimer County Food Bank who provide assistance to the most vulnerable families.  These donations make up 80% of the food and diapers the Larimer County Foo …

After decades of increases, U.S. divorces are leveling off with couples now slightly more likely to reach their 10-year wedding anniversary. But the "seven-year itch" among couples persists, with nearly one out of two first marriages estimated to end in divorce. Colorado divorce rate plummets during recession

The divorce rate in Colorado has dropped to 4.2 percent per 1,000 people, a rate hit only once — in 2003 — in the past 21 years. In 2007, the year the recession began, the rate was 4.4 percent, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. The latest data available are from 2009. U.S. Census Report Shows Divorce Rates Declining

Recent findings by the U.S. Census Bureau indicate divorce rates for most age groups have been decreasing since 1996 by an average of about 5 percentage points. The reasons include: Couples are waiting longer to get married One third of men and women ages 25 to 29 have never married. Census statistics show: In 1996, 19% of 25- to 29-year-old women who had been married were divorced, but only 14% were in 2009 -- a decease of about 30%.
