A recent census report found that 7.5 million heterosexual couples lived together in 2010, up 13 percent from 2009. And as the number of couples choosing to live together rather than marry has increased dramatically, so have the court battles created by their break-ups. Would You Use a Reconciliation Service?
Decades ago, common advice to divorcing couples was "try to work it out". People used to understand that life was cyclical and chances were high that a couple could get their relationship back on track if they stayed together. But in a culture that elects presidents based on "change", people now seem to think that good relationships can be found anywhere from the internet to the local pub. Based on this concept, when our current relationship goes awry, we simply create a new one. A recent survey in Minneapolis interviewed 2500 c …

If you want to save your marriage...
If you are seeking to save your marriage, put the fun back in it, and go out on a date together! A happy and healthy relationship will require an understanding of these differences. If your man is silent don’t be offended, he isn’t ignoring you and guys, if your lady is silent, you’d better figure out what you’ve done to upset her. Located in Denver (303) 299-9484 and …

Per The Financial Times: US Divorce rates have dipped during the recessession as unemployment surged and the housing market collapsed. The rate decreased in 2009 to 9.7 from 9.9 in 2006. It makes sense since it is more difficult to split up amid high unemployment and a plunge in housing prices. One divorce lawyer told the newspaper that one of her clients wanted to split with his wife in 2008, but had to stay married because the bank wouldn't lend him the money to buy her portion of their property. Divorce Becoming More Common in China

It was shameful for women to marry more than once while it was easy for men to take one or more concubines. But the times are changing in modern China. The economic miracle that followed the country's opening to the outside world after 197 …

Government statistics indicate that the New Zealand divorce rate has fallen to the lowest level in 27 years. New figures show that the divorce rate is now 11.3 per 1,000 marriages in 2008, down from 12.8 in 2004. Mental health professionals are saying the reason for the slowing divorce rate is that marriage has become a choice rather than a social norm and couples are waiting longer to tie the knot. Cohabitation Raises Couples Chances of Divorce
Maggie Gallagher and Linda Waite, authors of "A Case for Marriage", say that studies regarding cohabitation indicate that couples who live together prior to marriage have a greater chance of divorcing than couples who never cohabitated. The reason for this fact, the authors say, is that cohabitants do not reap the advantages of a deeper partnership and do not feel responsible for each other's well being. The latest Census Bureau figures show that 4 million couples are living together outside of marriage.
