Money and Kids After Divorce

Financial planner, analyst, and new author Linda Leitz shares valuable advice to divorced parents in her new book called "We Need to Talk: Money and Kids After Divorce." Leitz, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, focuses on how single parents can teach their kids about financial responsibility when the other parent leaves the household. It is a book not just about managing money, but coping with the emotions involved when the family has to learn to live with less. She expounds on the five stages of grief, (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance) that spread to money management in hopes that parents will recognize each stage, talk to their children about how they are going to handle their new financial circumstances, and learn to deal with them in a responsible manner.
