Rich Harris Comments on Parenting Time and the Best Interests of Children

The State of Alabama is currently weighing proposed changes to their child custody laws aimed at uniting broken families. Rich Harris, President and Managing Partner of The Harris Law Firm, Colorado's largest family law firm, commented on this on Monday, "Legislation like this, while perhaps well-intentioned, is harmful to kids. There should not be any presumption, other than kids deserve the best, healthiest home environment. Sometimes that is with dad, but sometimes that is with mom. Mandating forced equal parenting, when one parent is uninvolved or whose work schedule prevents it, simply does not make sense." 

In the State of Colorado courts rule on issues regarding parenting time under the best interests of the child statute. Rich Harris was recently named Best Family Law Attorney by Law Week Cololorado.
