Women: Healing From Divorce in a Healthy Manner

Yes, divorce is hard and the entire process can be emotionally devastating, but be careful how you deal with your pain.

Women going through a divorce often result to external means by shopping, having plastic surgery, or trying to create a new

relationship before they have had time to heal.

Shopping:

For many women, shopping is a common method of  dealing with the emotional void. You are sad and you feel empty, so

you go out and buy something new. Instead of purchasing something, deal with your pain in a more proactive manner.

Go talk to someone about how you feel. Have coffee or a glass of wine with a friend, get together with a family member, or

make an appointment to talk with a counselor. Deal with your pain directly by confronting how you feel.

Plastic Surgery:

Rather than creating a new you on the outside, think about creating a new you on the inside. Be active, go to the gym, ride

your bike, walk, and/or take a yoga class. Being active will help you release tension, and will give you more energy. It's

summer, go outside, and feel better and stronger by being active!

A New Relationship

Rather than choosing someone who is the polar opposite of your ex, take the time you need to heal and feel better. You

will not have the energy required for a new relationship until you have resolved your own issues regarding the demise of

your marriage. When you have a healthy relationship with yourself, you can have a healthy relationship with someone else.
