When you find yourself struggling with your former spouse regarding parenting issues, remember the following:
- Your Kids Need a Relationship with Both Parents. Following a Colorado Divorce, it is important to know that your children need to have a good relationship with both parents.
- Be Flexible and Be Willing to Compromise: Keep your kids best interests in mind, you may be able to avoid disagreements about the daily details of your parenting plan.
- Take a Deep Breath. Stay calm and think about what is best for your children. Keep their best interests at the forefront to maintain your composure.
- The Big Picture. Think about the happiness of everyone involved; you, your children, and yes, even your ex. You and your former spouse are forever linked due to the fact that you have children together. Do what you can to maintain a cordial and courteous relationship for their sake.
