Nevene S. Hullender

Nevene Hullender is a Colorado native, and comes to The Harris Law Firm with a decade of criminal trial experience as a prosecuting attorney. She graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona where she attained a degree in philosophy. She then continued her education in Arizona to obtain her law degree with a focus on trial advocacy.

During law school, Nevene interned at the Department of Justice in Washington D.C., and at the Attorney General’s Office and the Pima County Attorney’s Office in Tucson, Arizona. These experiences confirmed Nevene’s desire to pursue her legal career in the courtroom, advocating on behalf of victims.

After obtaining her J.D., Nevene returned Colorado and to her hometown of Denver, where she began prosecuting at the 18th Judicial District covering Arapahoe and Douglas Counties. During her career as a District Attorney, Nevene handled a broad range of criminal cases that included violations of protection orders and domestic violence crimes. Nevene then continued her prosecutorial career for the next 7 years at the Denver City Attorney’s Office where she continued to focus on seeking justice for victims. Over the course of her career, Nevene has tried approximately 150 jury trials and court trials, and spearheaded the passage and enactment of an anti-hate crime ordinance in Denver.

Nevene was initially drawn to family law because of her desire to help people through the difficult and heart wrenching times in their lives. Nevene is a strong advocate for her clients and works passionately to represent their needs. Her skill as a trial attorney coupled with her passion to advocate effectively on behalf of her clients is matched only by her compassion and empathy for those who seek her assistance through the challenges of transition.
