Super Lawyers are chosen through a rigorous 12-factor set of criteria, and the final list represents the top 5% of all lawyers in each state, across 70 different practice areas. To be a Super Lawyer means an attorney is quite literally at the top of their field. To be a Super Lawyers Rising Star means achieving all of that before the age of 40, with less than 10 years of practice experience. To be a Rising Star means to be at the top 2.5% of lawyers in the state—Attorney Sangeetha Mallavarapu is such a lawyer, named a Colorado Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
However, this award is far from all that makes Attorney Mallavarapu a remarkable family law attorney. Her current practice for The Harris Law Firm is divorce law and general family law, but her journey to family was not a straight path. Originally, Ms. Mallavarapu pursued a career in psychology, even earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Boston University. However, she saw the many legal pains her family went through, both in the U.S. and in India, and this inspired her to practice law. While at the University of Colorado School of Law, she also worked in both a Family Law Clinic and Criminal Defense Clinic.
Her experience working in employment litigation gave her valuable experience handling complex issues and negotiations between multiple parties with aggressive agendas. It was when she went through a difficult divorce, however, that gave Ms. Mallavarapu a passion for family law. Today, her journey has come full-circle—she employs her background in psychology to help her understand clients going through rough situations, she utilizes her experience in employment litigation to craft effective solutions between contesting parties, and she draws upon her personal divorce experience to help her fulfill her clients’ needs in the most painless, beneficial way possible. These have equipped her in a way that few legal experiences could.
Attorney Sangeetha Mallavarapu possesses an incredible and unique combination of experiences that make her ideally suited for difficult divorce and family law cases. Her clients can depend on her compassion and knowledge to lead them to the best solutions, founded on her professional and personal experience. If you are filing for divorce and anticipate a personally costly battle, consider allying yourself with Attorney Mallavarapu.
