What is a Legal Separation?
A legal separation is very similar to a divorce. In fact, the court will address all of the same issues involving the parties' children and finances, and the case will result in the parties have separate rights, responsibilities, and liabilities in the eyes of the law. The only difference is that the marriage will not be dissolved, so neither party will be eligible to marry another.
