The webinar will discuss the legal and procedural requirements when a stepparent, family member, or custodian/caretaker wants to legally adopt a child, including adoption of adult children, in Colorado. The adoption process requires several legal documents and requirements making it complicated for individuals to complete on their own. We will discuss the legal requirements for an adoption under Colorado Law as well as what happens after the Adoption Decree is issued, including inheritance, name change, and obtaining a new birth certificate.
