Nicole Porter is an Attorney at The Harris Law Firm who draws from her insight as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide caring and compassionate representation to parents, children, and families in a range of family law cases.
A Colorado native (and Bronco fan), Nicole attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and was admitted to practice in Colorado in 2009. Prior to earning her law degree, Ms. Porter obtained her Master of Social Work in 2001 from Walla Walla University in Washington, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class, and her LCSW credential in 2005.
An experienced litigator and former prosecutor, Nicole has logged countless hours in the courtroom on motions, settlements, and trials. Prior to joining The Harris Law Firm, she specialized in matters of workers’ compensation, insurance defense, and criminal law.
As a divorce and family law attorney, Nicole is adept in forging meaningful and substantive relationships with her clients. Her background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker allows her to address issues involving mental health, domestic violence, addiction, and gambling with the tact and care they require. Ms. Porter has also worked as a Child and Family Investigator (CFI), a professional who renders parenting recommendations in family law cases, and a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), which equips her with an intimate understanding of how family courts evaluate the best interests of children.
Nicole is a member of the Colorado Bar Association - Family Law Section, the Denver Bar Association, and Minoru Yasui Inn of Court, and works pro bono with at-risk youth.
When not in the courtroom, Nicole can be found enjoying the great outdoors. She has traveled to every continent except Antarctica, is a Certified Diver, and enjoys backpacking and rock climbing.
