Heidi Culbertson of The Harris Law Firm recently got the opportunity to attend a fundraiser for Bags of Fun, a charity organization geared toward bringing fun and joy to children battling life-threatening diseases and conditions. The fundraiser was graciously hosted by Mrs. Connie Wiegers at her lovely home.
This Colorado-based charity began with one child in 2004. At six years old, she lost her 19-month battle with brain cancer. She was a fun-loving, active girl who enjoyed singing, dancing, and laughing. She never lost her joy even through chemotherapy.
A foundation was started in her memory, and the Bags of Fun organization was born out of that. You see, it was a bag filled with fun and toys that helped keep her occupied and happy during her hospital visits. She even frequently shared her toys with other hospital patients.
