What it Takes to be the Best
Best Places to Work: Law Firms is a program created by the Business of Law Digest and Best Companies Group to recognize firms that create positive work environments and prioritize the well-being of their employees.
Open to all law firms nationwide with 10 employees or more, the annual Best Places to Work: Law Firms list is compiled using data-driven research and a process designed to accurately examine firms’ practices, workplace programs, and employee perspective.
This process begins with thorough company assessments and employer questionnaires that gather important details about firms and their workplace cultures. It also includes company-wide surveys in which employees are asked to provide honest feedback about satisfaction, diversity, inclusion, and other critical factors important to legal professionals. The data obtained from these evaluations and surveys are then reviewed by the Business of Law Digest staff and compared against a variety of benchmarks, such as the presence of formal programs for recruiting a diverse workforce, older employees, and veterans, employee compensation, a focus on work-life balance, tuition assistance, and more.
Firms that earn a spot on the final list of Best Places to Work: Law Firms are those which earned the highest marks in communication, leadership, culture, ongoing training, fair pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction. This year, The Harris Law Firm was one of just 28 firms nationwide to make the Best Places to Work: Law Firms list.
